Last night we had the first TweetUP in Pretoria at Ed’s Diner in Parkview mall. It was fun – much, meeting and greeting, buying of beer, and discussion about all things geek. It was a relatively small crowd, but for a first meet up organised through a thing like Twitter in Pretoria, I think it was a success, and the next one will have double or triple the amount of people.
Last night was a group of developers, IT guys, two photographers (Yes, one of them, @paulbedford, took some proper pictures), a teacher, a beautician, two designers, and me. It was kind of as expected, but better, although next time we hope there will be some variation in work demographics (Get with the program all you bloody agents on Twitter).
